However, Ruben Amorim insists that winning trophies isn’t the primary focus for the club at this stage of the season. While lifting silverware is always a goal, Amorim emphasizes that the immediate priority is to correct their league form and improve their overall standing in the Premier League. He believes that stabilizing their position and building momentum is crucial for the long-term success of the team, with the hope that results in the league will naturally lead to a stronger position in future European competitions.
Ruben Amorim, speaking to Sky Sports, expressed that while winning the Europa League would be a huge boost for Manchester United’s season, he doesn’t view it as absolutely crucial for the future of the club. Amorim, who has been with United for three months, acknowledged the importance of securing a European spot but emphasized that the club can still attract top players even without Champions League football in the future.
He said, “Manchester United can have all the best players without Champions League in the future,” though he also recognized that winning the Europa League would significantly impact the club’s fortunes and reputation for the upcoming season. Amorim also pointed out that the priority right now is improving their league position and addressing key issues within the team, rather than solely focusing on trophy wins at this stage. He understands the weight of the Europa League in altering perceptions and ensuring a more successful next season, but he maintains that there are more pressing matters for the club at this moment.
