When can Liverpool secure the Premier League title?

Liverpool holds a 13-point lead over second-placed Arsenal in the Premier League, with only 10 matches remaining; however, the Gunners have a game in hand over Arne Slot’s team. According to Opta, the Reds have a 98.8% probability of securing their second Premier League title.

Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Newcastle United at Anfield extended Arne Slot’s team’s lead to 13 points over second-placed Arsenal in the Premier League. So, when can the Reds secure the title?

With only 10 league matches remaining for Liverpool—one fewer than Arsenal—their recent victory has boosted their chances of securing a second Premier League title to 98.8%, according to Opta. Only once in Premier League history has a team squandered such a significant lead, when Manchester United was overtaken by Arsenal in the 1997-98 season.

However, Liverpool manager Arne Slot remained reserved when questioned about his team’s title ambitions, choosing instead to concentrate on their upcoming Champions League last-16 clash against Paris Saint-Germain, with the first leg set to take place at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, March 5.

“I don’t know [about the title] because I don’t think that way,” said the Dutchman after Liverpool’s 20th Premier League win of the season against Newcastle.

“I’m already thinking about PSG—I watched their game against [Man] City. I’m impressed by their quality; they are on a similar run to us, having barely lost any games for a long time.”
